Ash Foods, a pioneer in delivering home-cooked meals to families across Vancouver, is delighted to feature in a recent article by Denise Ryan in the Vancouver Sun. The article is shedding light on the recent growth of tiffin services across metro Vancouver.

Referring to the Mumbai dabbawallas who deliver 200,000 dabbas/tiffins every day in their traditional white dress and Gandhi cap, Ryan explained the Indian heritage of delivering affordable home-cooked meals. He highlighted how Ash Foods and other tiffin service providers are embracing the tradition in a modern way by delivering fresh food in paper bags and not in tiffins.

Revealing the journey and the inspiration behind Ash Foods, our co-founder Sumeet Bajaj said, “We started in 2020 (during COVID-19) to support North Indians coming to Vancouver. Restaurants were closed, new immigrants were staying in hotels and couldn’t cook or get the food they liked delivered”.

Ash Foods cofounder Harbans Swatch and his wife Navneet, who is also the head chef in Ash Foods, highlighted our standout attribute: Providing food that is not too spicy, which makes our cuisines ideal for regular eating.

Our high-quality, delicious, home-cooked food sets us apart from other tiffin service in Vancouver. And our growth testifies to the authenticity of our food. We commenced by preparing 20 tiffins in a day, which has now increased to 600 tiffins. Due to this, we have recently acquired a new warehouse for cooking from where we can serve at least 2000 Tiffins a day.
